The General Worker’s Union was founded in 1943 and always had tight
relationships to Malta Labour Party. It is a trade union
center and has more than 40,000 members. The headquarters are at South Street,
Valetta.
Description of flag:
It is a light blue flag with the badge in its centre.
Description of badge:
The shield, fimbriated grey, is divided per pale into
white and red and superimposed by a white rectangle, also fimbriated grey,
containing blue capitals “GWU” with another rectangle below, smaller and grey
with red capitals “MALTA”.

I have found a few photographs on the WWW showing the flag of the GWU (General
Workers Union). They all show the flag as described by Klaus-Michael Schneider.
However, there are minor variations in the size of the badge, and in the shade
of the flag cloth. The grey fimbriation of the badge looks shiny, silvery to me,
at least in a few cases. New gif attached as <mt}gwu.gif>
